The Civil Wars have been selected as a VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist to watch, receiving extensive on-air and online support through video play, editorial coverage and exclusive interview and performance video content in the coming weeks. This is just the latest achievement for the breakout duo, whose debut album Barton Hollow, debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on iTunes’ overall Albums chart earlier this year (Sensibility Music). Additionally, the duo’s exclusive live digital EP, iTunes Live: SXSW, recently reached #1 on iTunes’ Singer Songwriter chart and #16 on iTunes’ overall Albums chart. In celebration of the record, the duo continues to tour nationwide, including sold-out shows in Nashville, Birmingham, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington D.C, New York, Boston and Dallas as well as at the 2011 Newport Folk Festival.
