What you’ll need:
Pair of pants
Square of fabric to cover taplight
Hot glue gun (or one of the following: a stapler, sewing kit, extreme tape)
Getting Your Materials Together
1. Get some pants
You have some options when it comes to the pants. We went to our local Wal-mart and bought some $10 quasi-linen khaki pants. But you could make it work with a wide array of bottoms from your own closet, Goodwill, Wal-mart, etc. We chose our pants based on the fact that our crotch light would really shine well through the thin material and light color. We’re even working on a pair of light up crotch jorts!
2. Buy a taplight
They generally come in two sizes so pick what’s best for your style… and better yet, they usually come in double packs for $4 (Wal-mart, Target, and other places like this), so that means you and a friend can make these magnificent pants together.
3. Acquire some crotch light cover/holder material
Again, you have some options when it comes to this step, and thank goodness because we all want light up crotch pants options. So, you can completely bypass this step by just sticking the light in your pants or gluing it to your underwear.
Maybe you like to live on the edge, but for those of us who are a little more cautious, we recommend getting a square of fabric big enough to cover the taplight. We found some for $3 at Wal-mart to match our pants. If you’re wanting to light up the crotch of your jeans, then look for some jegging-esque material.
Start Making Your Light Up Crotch Pants Dreams Come True
1.Try the pants on and see where you want your taplight to go and mark it.
2.Cut the square of fabric to fit nicely over your taplight and pants.
3.Make a kangaroo pouch with the fabric you cut. Do this by hotgluing, or extremely taping down, the taplight onto the pants then hotgluing the fabric over the light and on the pants. Make sure the fabric and light are secured onto the pants.
Now go light up the world with your crotch! And shine your brightest crotch at the Electric Six show to win yourself some prizes.
